Description:

The Human Resources Assistant will perform a variety of office support tasks under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Specialist. The Human Resources Assistant will have the ability to be flexible and must be willing to learn a variety of new skills that will benefit the company.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience with insurance, billing, and/or payroll.

  • One year experience in a Human Resources or secretarial-related environment a plus.

  • Satisfactory criminal history check meeting Oregon Administrative Rules and company policy requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • General office duties, including answering phones and providing general information or writing messages.

  • Assists in ordering, receiving, and stocking supplies.

  • Light janitorial duties in office, including vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, and taking out trash.

  • Assists in conducting new employee hire processing which includes setting up employee file, processing tax information, processing background checks, reference checking, etc..

  • Maintains and updates personnel records in accordance with ICLS, federal, and state policies.

  • Ensures all personnel trainings and screenings are up to date and properly recorded in the employee’s file, and disseminates any needed trainings or screenings to management.

  • Assists with daily company budgeting and billing into payment systems and maintains all receipts related to business expenses.

  • Assists in the dissemination of information to personnel insurance and company insurance.

  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality for employees and individuals being served by the company.

  • Assesses and submits monthly payroll records.

  • The HR Assistant must be able to perform this job safely, without endangering the health or safety of him/herself or others.

  • The HR Assistant must be able to work collaboratively and efficiently with other co-workers, management, and community members.

  • Any other duties assigned by the Human Resources Specialist or Executive Director.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Commitments:

  • Attend weekly team meetings as required.

  • Attend and participate in trainings as required by Executive Director.

  • Must be willing to work flexible schedule and find or personally cover during emergency situations.

  • Participate in fundraising, marketing, and special events for the benefit of the organization.

Compensation:

  • This is an hourly position starting at $11 per hour.
